Patrick Heinbaugh
Who are you?
I ask that question a lot. I’m Pat Heinbaugh, a Pennsylvania-based senior graphic and illustrative designer.
What’s your philosophy?
This is deep. I believe creative finds commonalities between people, and the best creative appeals to their emotions and familiarity. Design connects us all, and the more connected we are to a piece of art or a visual, the more comforted we feel.
Where have you been?
What a way to give my credentials. Here are some highlights:
Education: BFA in Graphic + Interactive Design from West Chester University (2017)
Professional: Graphic Design Specialist at The GIANT Company, Carlisle, Pennsylvania (Apr 2024–Oct 2024), Senior Graphic Designer at Postern, Frederick, Maryland (Aug 2020–Jan 2024) | Design Associate at Bravo Group, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania (Nov 2017–Jul 2020)

How do you work?
With my eye on the prize. Creative is about marrying stories with lively illustration that connects with and captivates audiences. And that’s what I work to do each and every time.
Why is design so important to you?
I really shouldn’t interview myself. I ask terrible questions. But, I believe we should always reserve a spot in our minds for art and design.
I’m always thinking about the craft and the next project. Even if it’s not the task in front of me, it energizes me when it’s ready to initiate. It alleviates burnout, and pushes me on to the next big thing.
