Black Mountain Moonshine is a branding and packaging piece designed around a fictional moonshine company.
While recent design trends make moonshine sophisticated, I looked into its more rowdy nature by imbuing it with design sensibilities from the punk/DIY scene. I based the distillery in Richmond, VA, as they are known for high-quality moonshine and a healthy punk scene.
Punk for Change is a fictional event meant to complement the Black Mountain Moonshine piece.
After creating a moonshine based on punk/DIY culture, my idea was to have them host a giant punk concert in the distiller’s home city. The event would serve as both a concert and political protest, inspired by the political collage shown on the company’s bottles.
